Do you collect The AFL footy trading cards?

I have since 1981, and I have a series from 1952.

Do you collect The AFL footy trading cards?
I used to collect them when i was in primary school but I think they ended up in the rubbish :(

My son is an avid collector now and has inherited a lot of trading card sets from his dad and bro-in-law.

I love seeing him get excited when he gets one he was really dying for!!
Reply:I have some from about '93 - '97. I'm trying to figure out how much they are worth now because I am thinking of selling them. Have you got any clues? Report Abuse

Reply:Great collection and hobby Big Kev well done, over the last 2 years I have picked up the "Herald Sun"cards , supposedly for the Grandson's , but haven't passed them on as yet ..lol. My best collection is a signed Tommy Hafey adidas T shirt ,and the 12 VFL jumpers, which includes a Mathews Hawthorn No 3, a Neville Bruns Geelong 19, (still blood stained) LenThompson Collingwood No 1 (1978) Phil Carman No 31 Melbourne (1979), Francois Bourke No 30 Richmond (1980) and David Young No 14 Sth Melb ...to name a few .

Added to that about 24 country league jumpers.. Unfortunately, no Crows jumper as yet Big Kev .
Reply:used to but i dont see the point now as a 15 year old.

Reply:Hi Big Kev,

A friend of mine has a large box full of thousands footy cards in it!

He picked them up from a garage sale a while ago, someone must have been mad on collecting them.

I reckon some of them might be worth some money nowadays.
Reply:My dad used to collect them back when he was a kid :)
