During most of the 90s I collected comics trading cards ( Marvel, DC, Image, Wildstorm ) and I want to sell all the special cards I possess.
At eBay I've found prices for the trading cards, but the problem is that there are not a standard price for them, where could I find how much are they worth each??
Besides eBay, which web site can tell me how much my trading cards are worth??
I have been a member of Beckett.com for many years. It is better then getting the magazine itself. It is very inexpensive but you can pick up a monthly subscription to many of its price catelogs for as little as $2.99 You will find any and all cards dating back to the T206 age. They have many features which will allow you to look at new and old products alike.
I have been dealing with trading cards and such for many years and it is the #1 place for me, hands down.

Time Travel back to the early 90's.
I collected when I was a kid. I used to buy a wax box of topps or donruss for 15 bucks.
I remember my first box of 1989 Upper Deck. 25 bucks. 15 cards a pack, 36 packs a box. Back then you got alot of cards for your money! I stopped buying cards in 1994.
So just a few months ago, I went to wal mart and looked at the baseball cards. I picked up a box of Upper Deck. 20 bucks.
5 cards a pack. 10 packs a box. I bought it and opened the cards. I was so disappointed. I got 50 cards, and nothing special.
I remember when a box of cards would keep me busy for hours. Looking for stars, sorting them out. When you get 500 cards, its alot more fun than getting 50.
I don't think there are cheap cards anymore.

Reply:I would have a magnifying glass (or maybe even a dissecting microscope for close examination), a clean flat table or desk, latex gloves for serious handling, a bright lamp, and a guide describing conditions of the card as well as any types of errors or imperfections.

Put in a safe place fire and moisture free [ small safe ] and each card seal of course if your a card collector you already know about Beckett so i will stay away from that.
*Condition*
Hold them through time don't get in a hurry and ever now and than put the price on one for bid on EBay now people never want to pay full price so you over price 25% let them [ hackle ] makes them fill good thinking they got you to come off the price and they will buy with a smile:~)
Remember this card may be worth something in the Beckett book but on the street it not the same way unless someone is looking for one to complete their set...

The best place to sell Football, Baseball and Basketball trading cards?
Ebay without question especially if you have a lot of rookie cards and they are in good condition...show close up shots of your big time players to show that that card is in good condition...you could also try auctions as well if you have incredibly old and valuable cards.

The trading cards that I have are the original 1977 trading cards. They are in good shape. Most of the sets are complete.

The sad fact for most people who hung on to old Star Wars toys and memorabilia, is that there isn't much interest in used, open, and incomplete stuff. There is HUGE money trading hands every day, but it's primarily for toys and cards that have been never opened (and even then, the difference between a few creases and cracks in the packaging can mean hundreds if not thousands of dollars difference in value).
To specifically answer your question though, I bought a complete set of 1977 Star Wars Topps trading cards - all 5 series (blue, red, yellow, green, and orange) - in near mint condition for like $50.
For a collection that's in "good shape" and only "mostly" complete, you're not gonna get much at all. Maybe $10 or $20.
The problem is, there are simply too many unopened packs still out there. The real collectibles are the cardboard boxes (the ones that used to sit on the counter at 7-11) that are unopened, with all 36 sealed wax packs inside, gum included!
What people do is to buy up the boxes, open them up and create a bunch of mint condition sets and sell them off individually.
If I were you, I'd put your cards in a nice binder and either give them to a kid (big or little!) who might appreciate them. Or, stick them back in the closet and try again in another 30 years.

i bought a box of baseball cards at an auction that have many of them stuck together. not by a foreign substance, just by the glossy surfaces of the fronts and backs. would steaming them work, like you would to open an envelope? help!

How do you get mew in pokemon trading cards,and in pokemon red virsion?
The first guy was right, you CAN get it via gameshark, but another way is to use a special cheat that only the older games (R,B,Y) have. with the cheat you can override the "battle memory" of the game. OK, you know that area after Nugget bridge, but before Bill's house? What you need to do is fight everyone on the way EXEPT the kid with the slowpoke (all he has is the one) and the guy sitting in the grass next to Curealin Cave. Next, catch an Abra just outside of Curealin city. It should have telaport. Then, with abra in your team, go back and battle the kid with the slowpoke (save your game beforehand), then head for the area with the guy sitting in the grass. What you need to do now is inch forward, one step at a time, and press "START" immediatly when he becomes within your sight range. select your abra via "POKEMON", and choose teleport. though the trainer will see you (he will have a "!" over his head, you will have teleported back to the pokecenter. Now go ahead and start to head back up Nugget Bridge. you will stop short, and the screen that pops up when you pres "Start" will come on. Simply press "B", and you will suddenly find yourself in a battle with a lv.7 Mew. Cool huh?

Your best chance is to sort your collection out by certain players or teams, some individual collectors jump at lots featuring their favorite player or team. You won't be getting much money but it may be more worthwhile than selling the whole thing at once. Make sure to price competitively. Another great site is sportlots.com, you can list your cards individually, it's a lot of work but it's an easy tool for collectors seeking affordable ways to find common cards they need.
There are exceptions in a few places, if you have cards that aren't part of the base sets (i.e. insert cards, or special sets) I would consider putting those to the side...you can probably price some of those cards for free by searching ebay's sales the past 30 days and see what they are going for. Hi, I have a whole slew of old comic/sports cards (ones that before the internet would have sold for quite a bit), but I am wondering: With technology going how it is going, and interest in paper novelties such as these, comic books, etc., will the value ever go up?? The card comapnies have flooded the market with cards, which along with the worlwide online marketplace has killed sports card c ollecting as many of us once knew it.
